Our warm up transfered to the first quarter of the game against CSD, deaf team. We played weak, and just had no energy in us. They bolted off to a 24 to 5 lead by the end of the first 8 minutes. Another blowout we were thiking, exactly like our 40 point loss to CSD the first time.
Coach informed us that we had to start to pick it up and show we had energy. It was our last game he informed us. What were we waiting for?
We worked hard and began to play some better ball. But still not enought, we were down by 14 by halftime 32-18
Then..halftime. what a weird mist. None of us were shooting around, we were just sitting their quiet.
Then the fun began. 3rd Quarter was upon us. We fought and we fought. We were a true team for once and finally. Rotating the ball, playing strong defense, working the plays, we were truly following Coach's words "Execute." Shot after shot, we were draining them, and the other team was no match for our superior fundamental play. We were the strongest team, I had ever seen. 3rd Quarter was our comeback above all other combacks. (Glad to be a part of it) Seeing our team, we were screaming and screaming from the bench and we were motivated. We are a team.
Fourth quarter started, back and forth we went. Down to the two minute mark. Then it was our team. Our pg hit a three and our team jumped for joy. We were down by one. Then back to our offensive side again. An airball thrown up. ONly our Center grabbed it and put it back off the glass, like he had been doing the whole game.
We were ahead. We were screaming and screaming. WIth 5 seconds left, our sguard was at freethrow line. He hit one. Nick Hickman, their point guard and player that ran into a very kool guy's nuts, took the ball down the court and went up for a layup with 1 second left, it rattled out. Then they rebounded and threw the ball in the hoop.
Dread. Just kidding. Our team took the victory. They missed the buzzer. They were too late.
WE won. WE were a team
its soo weird.
that felt good!
